What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?
PRP treatment is not a stem cell treatment.
PRP means platelet, that is, plasma rich in platelets. In PRP application, platelet cells obtained from the animal's own blood and plasma rich in growth factors are used.
PRP application increases the number of platelets, which initiates the body's self-healing process. Fibrin networks formed after the application work indirectly with stem cells by collecting the stem cells in the environment into their own structure. Therefore, the repair and regeneration process is triggered in the area where PRP is applied.
In the treatment of PRP, blood is taken from the patient (15-20 ml) and placed in special tubes. The fraction rich in platelets and growth factors is separated from the collected blood by serial centrifuges.
